DJ Razor – Tejano DJ & Conjunto Music Enthusiast
Born and raised on the west side of San Antonio, DJ Razor—known off-air for his deep roots in conjunto and Tejano music—has built a name for himself in the San Antonio music scene. A proud 2000 graduate of Lanier High School, Razor's love for music began early. After his parents divorced when he was 12, he moved in with his grandparents, where the sounds of traditional conjunto music filled the house and captured his heart.
Though he appreciates all genres, conjunto became his passion. In middle school, a friend’s uncle nicknamed him "Razor" after WWF wrestler Razor Ramon, and the name stuck. By high school, everyone knew him as Razor, and when he started making freestyle mixtapes, “DJ Razor” was born.
After high school, he hustled to save for DJ equipment, booking small gigs and growing his craft from the ground up. It quickly became clear that DJ’ing wasn’t just a hobby—it was his calling.
Years later, when San Antonio’s KLMO 98.9 FM launched, Razor jumped at the opportunity to audition. He landed the spot, and it felt like making the big leagues. Surrounded by seasoned radio professionals who generously share their knowledge, Razor continues to evolve and grow in the industry. After leaving KLMO, Razor joined the team of Tejano Up Radio as one of its owners.
With the love and support of his wife and children, DJ Razor proudly represents the culture and music that shaped him. His journey is a testament to passion, persistence, and the power of community.
